Yyyass to the Tunics!!!

Something phenomenal has happened! If you are in the fashion game then I am sure that you have heard that Tanisha of "Girl With Curves" has dropped a collection with Lane Bryant. If you have not heard, then let me introduce you to the  GWC X LB collection. With all of the buzz still swirling around the collection, I have to admit that I was super uber excited that Tanisha included several tunics. Tunics, in my opinion, are the forgotten step-child of fashion. Why is that? Who doesn't want a little more coverage at time?

Let's be honest, tunics save lives. Ok! They cover all of our mid-section for those that do't have that flat tummy.....yet. If only the naysayers knew that women, like myself, love them. As a "Fruit Salad" tunics are a girl's best top. Covering all of the major parts and keeping secrets that need to be kept, the tunic can do no wrong. In the collection, there were 3 tunics included which is major, in my opinion.

This is so exciting for me because I struggle. Yes, me. I struggle with finding tops that I love and are versatile in my style. Lately, it seems that all brands and designers are cutting tops so weird that the length stops at your navel. Now, you know I am a mixture of all the fruits so this is a no-go for me. When looking for tops, I want to make sure that I am covered and the length is accommodating for the look. So, to my surprise, when I saw the Floral Belted Tunic and the Lilac Belted Tunic, I knew it was a must have. The lightweight fabric and flowy details of the tunic will take me from FALL to SPRING. Yes, I said Spring...lol. With a mock neck and keyhole back, with pockets on the sides......What is it not to love about this tunic? Before you ask, yes I got them in both colors.

One of the reasons, I love tunics so much is their versatility. You can dress a tunic up or down for the desired look of choice. I choose to style the floral tunic in 3 different ways.

Look 1: Work Wear

Look 1 was inspired by a work look. With a work bag, a pencil skirt, and a pump you are set to take on any job. If you are not a fan of skirts, add a sleek skinny ankle pant for a classic look.

Look 2: Girl's Night Out or Brunch

Look 2 was created with the lady on the go. The lady that loves to brunch with friends or meet up for happy hour. Add a pair of your favorite legs and a heel, you are set.

Look 3: Trendsetter

Look 3 was created for the Fashionista who isn't afraid to take on the fashion game head on. With your favorite pair of leggings, rock a bold bootie. White, Cobalt Blue, Lavender just to name a few. Show them that you are a risk taker and you are ready for the fashion scene.

Ladies, what are your thoughts about tunics? Do you love them or hate them? Until next time, stay beautiful and true to you.
