The Drop Waist Silhouette seems that it was DROPPED by the wayside due to the popularity of Fit and Flare or Sheath silhouettes in the past. This leads me to wonder if the silhouette was forgotten because of the illusion of the fit? Most women I have talked too, shy away for a drop waist dress in fear that it was show their problem areas or their FUPA. The reality is that a drop waist dress will do the opposite. A drop waist will conceal and flatter the body as a fit and flare would. Both are visually appealing but in different ways. The fit and flare takes the eye to the bussom as the drop waist takes the eye lower thigh. Ladies, how do you feel about a drop waist? I have picked a few of my favorites. Enjoy!
I was so lucky to be gifted the Tie Neck Ruffled Hem Mini Dress (TNRHMD) from ELOQUII during New York Fashion Week (NYFW) and Curvycon at their preview event. Imagine my excitement when I saw this dress and tried it on. I was so in love all over again. My childhood memories come flooding back to the good old times. I knew exactly how I was going to style this look to add my flare to it. I wanted to keep the look simple in The RSS way. I paired the TNRHMD with the Oversized Fanny Pack to give some definition to the waist. For an additional little sass, I completed the look with the Kass Slouchy Cone Heeled Boot. Totally the 80's right?
I hope that you enjoyed this look and think about trying on a drop waist dress on your next shopping trip. Until next time, stay beautiful and true to you.
