The Blazer Dress

Have you ever tried menswear? Not as a gift for Bae, but for your own personal style. I have and let me tell you there's nothing like the relaxed fit and comfort. I have been doing this since Middle School and even now, I still love wearing my boyfriend's t-shirt or basketball shorts. So it is no surprise that I love all of the menswear-inspired looks that have taken over the runways especially the Blazer Dress.

With the double breasted closures, the blazer dress is definitely a must-have this Fall. This is an excellent way to dabble in the menswear trend, but still allows for a feminine touch with its cute  and feminine edge. If you are looking for staple pieces to add to your wardrobe which transition well from office to night, then look no more. The Blazer Dress is the perfect look.

Here are a few of my picks of a blazer dress.

For my look, I am wearing the Double Breasted Blazer Dress from ELOQUII. This dress was a must have from the classic print, the style, and classic color scheme. I love the feminine touches on such a masculine look. The sleeves are rouched to add that subtle touch. I also love the hint of the mint green stripe that runs through the plaid. Definitely a nice touch. I paired the look with my I.N.C. Bray Sock Booties and the Wool Fedora from Gap.

Now, let's talk about this fit. If you are an apple shape, I would recommend that you size up as the dress is lined. If you are a pear shape, do not be alarmed, you unbutton the last button to allow for more room. Let's talk about this belt. I am not a fan of the belt at all. The structure and functionality of the is a no for me. I plan to take the belt to the tailor to have the buckle removed and wear it as a sash belt. The buckle is not sturdy at all and the closure does not seem long enough to make the belt functional. If you are not a fan of belts, then you are all set to go.

Ladies, what is your favorite men's inspired look? Are you willing to try the blazer dress trend? Until next time Ladies, stay beautiful and true to you.
