The CurvyCon - Day 1

2017 has been a big year for some minor traveling for me. This year, I attended THE CURVYCON for the first time. I totally can not believe The CurvyCon has officially come and gone just that quick. Where is time going? It has been over a week since I landed back in Houston with a natural high. Are you curious about The CurvyCon? Well, here we go.

Of course we have to talk about style first.

When thinking of looks to slay The CurvyCon, I wanted a creative flare. Channeling my inner Janelle Monae with a ShaKera twist, I created a look around the Miracle Flawless Side Stripe Leggings. Yes, I knew the bold red color with the contrasting racer stripes would be just Fatabulous. Yes, I said fatabulous. (Hey, why not make up new words for your slay?) For a pop of contrast, I added the Ava & Viv Camo Print Anorak Jacket. 

In a split second, I decided to add a little flare to my look by wearing the bow back tee backwards. The bows are intended to open in the back of the shirt but I wanted a more daring look. Yes, I know. I know.... I know you can see the bra this way. But, is that a bad thing (wink)? Had I thought of this style aspect before leaving the hotel, I would have paired the look with a blue bra underneath to add an additional pop of color in the most unexpected place.


When creating looks, never be afraid to try something new or innovative. I have seen the camo trend for a while, but I have not fully invested in the trend. This is totally changing now. I love the versatility and neutral palette of the camo drape jacket. This look totally inspired me to take on New York City. 

Ok, enough about the look. 

On Day 1 of The CurvyCon was started with a workout session sponsored by Target. Cece hosted the workout session with surprise guest Massiel Arias. 

Later in the evening, Dia & Co. sponsored a fantastic fashion show debuting their new lines and brands. With all of the excitement from the fashion show, I can-not wait to see what will be in my next Dia box. Here are some of the amazing looks from the show.


Overall, Day 1 of The Curvy Con was nothing short of magical. I enjoyed shopping and engaging with brands. Oh! Did I tell you guys that I finally met some of my favorite people from ELOQUII? Can we say about amaz-balls!!!!! I am not sure if you can tell my excitement but yes it is on still on 10. Building online relationships is fantastic with brands but nothing compares to real life relationships.
